Multicolor Pack for The Eddy Vegas UI Mod

==========================================
Thanks, Eddy, for the original work!
------------------------------------------
This color-pack is derivative work based on the original effort of Eddy Vegas.
It provides his original mod plus multiple color variations. It is intended
to provide in-game color variation to suit the individual preferences
of Shadow Empire players.
Hence, there are multiple color schemes in this pack, each in its own subfolder in the zip file.
The color-pack mod zip file is here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/anp4r83qt1hf0 ... k.zip?dl=0
Eddy's original mod is here:
https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 3&t=352384
Message from Eddy Vegas, the orignal author: "I hope you enjoy this mod! -Eddy"
I hope Eddy doesn't mind that I've expanded on his excellent work.
==========================================
GraphicsAlt folder
------------------------------------------
Also, Since Eddy first created this mod, Vic has added the /GraphicsAlt folder.
Eddy's original version copies files into the game's base /Graphics folder
because /GraphicsAlt folder didn't exist at that time. This update recommends to
copy the files into /GraphicsAlt (now that it exists) thereby leaving the
default game graphics intact.
==========================================
Instructions for use
------------------------------------------
(1) Download and unpack the zip file
(2) Choose the color that suits your taste and navigate into that color folder
(3) Copy the /GraphicsAlt folder of that color (only) to the /GraphicsAlt in your game's install folder
Voila - you will have that color variation next time you launch the game.
To change color, just do step (3) of the above procedure for another color.
Go wild! Change color every day...
==========================================
Color Schemes included
------------------------------------------
EddyVegasBrown
ForestGreen
InfraRed
MustardYellow
OliveGreen
OrigGraphics
RustyOrange
SmolderingRed
SteelBlue
UltraViolet

Great stuff, it is refreshing to not have to stare at so much grey all the time.

Great mods, thanx to both of you guys. Maybe it will sound like order(lol) but i think default color variant would be awesome with all those ui improvments

Give more details what you mean...
Do you mean some of the brighter colored buttons and outlines on the original steely-gray graphics?
It sounds like it should be fairly easy to do depending on exactly what you're suggesting. If so, I'd be happy to put it together.

Exactly, what I meant to say was that. I believe there are many others besides me who would like to use that default gray graphic version of this ui mod. Thank you in advance for your efforts

Hello sir just a small request if you are still working on this? Would a grey metallic color one be possible that sort of looks industrial or techy? Not crazy about the brown or other colors. Love the changes to the UI just not the change to the colors.

Yeah, I think so. Shifting colors was fairly each to do - the only tricky part was keeping it from being to too ridiculous and off putting.
Regarding 'steely-grey' industrial science-fiction techy, isn't that what the original is like? I'll see if I can come up with something along those lines, but different from vanilla.
-Mark R.
edit: and as a side note... I don't even use these, I just use the original Eddy Vegas brown version

- I like the browns and find the metallic too cold.

Cheers I am sure you can come up with something very cool!

Can anyone offer clearer instructions on getting this mod to unzip and download for me? I'm by no means a computer expert, and try as I might, I can not find a directory named 'install.' I do, however, really enjoy this game and would desperately like to see some different colors on the UI. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks.

The 'install' directory is not actually named install. It is the directory (synonym for folder on windows) where the game was installed.
If you purchased directly from Matrix, your install folder is most likely here: C:\Matrix Games\Shadow Empire
If you use Steam, it's maybe here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Shadow Empire
If you got the game from somewhere else, I'm not sure where the install directory will be.
(I don't use Steam, so can someone who does verify the install folder? Thanks.)
When you unzip the zipfile, you will get a set of folders, one for each color scheme (see image below). Inside each color-scheme folder will be a GraphicsAlt folder. Simply copy (or drag-n-drop) one of the GraphicsAlt folders to your "install" folder.
This a very common pattern for installing graphics-only mods for Shadow Empire. So, once you know how to do it for one mod, most graphics-mods should be easy!!
Let us know if you have any trouble.

Right-click the game shortcut on your desktop and select "Open file location." A window will open; this is the game's installation directory. It should contain a folder named "GraphicsAlt."
Extract the downloaded .zip file into this directory. Once extracted, open the newly created folder: "eddy_vegas_UI_mod_V3.11 mroyer ColorPack." Inside, you'll find subfolders named after the available colors. Open the one you prefer, and you'll find a folder named "GraphicsAlt." Copy this folder into the game's installation directory and confirm that you want to replace the existing "GraphicsAlt" folder and its files.
[edit] Sorry, Mark, we replied at the same time. Thank you for the mod.

After reviewing both of your instructions, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, I was able to make the mod work! Thanks so much for the help! And Mark, where is your Kofi? You deserve a gift for the work you've put in here. Thanks so much, loving this Olive Green pattern!

I do appreciate that a lot, but I anything I do and contribute here is pure hobby - I'm old, near retirement, and have plenty of money to survive to the end

. This is my small give-back to a younger community that keep this type of gaming going so I can continue to enjoy. I just can't keep up with the real-time first-person shooter stuff, so I rely on this gaming form to keep vibrant.
Thanks again,
-Mark R.
