[FIXED] Aircraft Not Following Flight Plan

Good Evening

Build: 1307.3, Steam

I have set up a ferry mission from RAF Coningsby to RAF Ascension i have created a flight plan for 2x Flights of 6 Typhoon FGR.4 with ferry loadout (Flights Crown18 and Storm89). The first of which is 1:30 minutes from launch the second 10 minutes after that. The flight plan was auto generated then refuelling added in. The flights set of at the correct time specified in the plan but after that they just abandon the plan take a direct flight missing the tankers and then run out of fuel. I freely admit it maybe something i've missed any help would be appreciated.

Two other things i've notice in this exercise. The first is that tankers are not following receivers they are dragging the fighters along the support mission instead. The second thing is when on 1 or 2 flame speed the flights seem to be rising and falling a good couple of 1000 meters as they travel.

I have included a save and logs. Any questions just ask.

Thanks for your time.

Both of the issues in the second paragraph have been reported.

Sure look like the same issues.

Cheers, The second issue sound exactly the same, the first one is the reverse of my issue i think. I want the tankers to follow the planes.

"I want the tankers to follow the planes."

Thats what the OP wanted. There's a switch in tanker config that sets that either way. I thought thats what you were talking about.

Yer it doesn't seem to make a difference if the button is checked or unchecked they just follow the tanker support mission instead of the ferry mission the fighters are on.

I tried loading the scenario. 11,000 units. It eventually loaded, but was very laggy, so didn't go any further with it.

I'm hoping to remove around 4000 Units but i had to start with everything. Obviously it runs a little slow but not too bad considering its size.

Anyway a lite version.

The units not following flight plan issue still exists in 1328.9

New save below, to see run the save Ferry mission starts at 02:00z 2nd Aug 90, units launch then just fly a direct route to destination.

EDIT: The tanker follows receiver feature also does not work here still.

New save (No big AU counts)

Every time that I experience the planes not following the flight plan/or changing altitude or speed it can usually be traced back to a fuel issue. Obviously, there are safety measures built into the games code which tells the plane that it needs to alter something so that it doesn't run out of fuel and crash.

Therefore, it would be nice if the program is going to implement these unwanted changes, if it could generate a pop up message that advises you what it is doing and why. Then, it should give you the option of manually overriding it, if the player desires. That would eliminate most of these.

Additionally, if this was done, then you would have to assume that any other unwanted change had to do with a bug within the programming, and it would be easier to find and locate the problem, so that a remedy could by applied.

1328.10 still has the same not following flight path issue with Ferry missions.

The save file is pulled directly from the Steam community mission - Mission 2013D Part 1. A ferry mission for the VIP 737 from ROC North AB Taiwan to Kadena AB Japan already exists.

Changes to that mission:
737 immediately ready
Use flightpath - check
Use pre- gen flightpath - check
Ferry throttle -> Unspecified
Tankers -> Allow -> Launch without tankers
Create flightpath
Flightpath Editor
Landing Location -> Kadena AB
(Path indication green, no warnings)
Clear mission active time
(Mission Active)
Saved file

Press play and wait for takeoff. Flight path indicates on screen but doesn't follow.

I've tried multiple combinations to get it to work. No dice.

A solution was added to the codebase and is in the testing phase.

the issue was fixed for the next update release. I've also added a proper message since the only Ferry mission type that supports flight plan at the moment is One Way
