Hello Esteemed Players,

I just downloaded the 1.01.27Beta and did a fresh install of it in order to see what the fuss is all about. I can click the normal executable file or the executable file with "_noLLA" at the end of the file name and I get "Error: Unable to Find PW Data !!! ". This is after a direct double click on the executable file--not the launcher or autorun. You can see the picture below.

If anyone has any ideas, it would be great to hear them.

Hmm. This particular prompt is usually the result of an invalid installation. I assume from your post that you did install the beta over a new installation of the base game?

Try rebooting your computer. Also try the other exe....GP

What do you mean…..”what all the fuss is about”?

There is not any “fuss” about the beta.

Most likely you just have a bad install…..you need the full game
and the beta is not the full game.

You need a complete path for the game to find the data files.

Try this….Delete what you have and follow my method below to
install the full game all the way to the beta.

It is obvious from your screenshot that you are missing file folders.
After the SCEN folder should come the SOUND folder.

Take a look at my install below...

Something I've just spotted. *noLA.exe what is it. Search reveals nothing.

I am guessing LA could be License Agreement? So if you haven't agreed to the licensing conditions it won't finish the install?

I was confused. For me there are two Beta’s.

I gave a bad example….of an experimental run I had set up.

OP wanted the “new Beta”..or the “last Beta”... or the “Final Beta”...
or the “Public Beta”…

The “New Beta” is still an update to the original game.
You still need the complete game installed first for it to run.

Note I’ve put my “New Beta”,“Final Beta”, Last Beta”,“Public Beta” in a
separate install which I call the “Beta Actual”

Trugrit: I somehow thought the file in the Beta link was comprehensive. I should have checked your post on how to install the game first. I just did a quick install per your instructions and it appears to be working fine. I'll use Seabees later to tweak the settings.

By "fuss," I've been around too many Brits. I just wanted to check out the new map and see how things worked with the new Beta. I haven't fired up the game in a while.

Well my fault entirely…...at first I thought you were trying to get the original beta to run.

You were right there is quite a bit of things still unresolved about the new Beta
which is unfinished.

I wish it had stayed off of the main store page for now because new players may install and
start up a long game….put a lot of time into it and just hit a dead end at some point.

There are new front end features which can confuse as well.
