Orange trucks indicate hexes where enemy units may be present or may have been present. They block supply routes until they are cleared.

Based on my results I either don't understand how they are supposed to work or there may be problems in the logic. Here is what I found:

1. Friendly unit moves into truck hex. No enemy unit is present. Friendly unit leaves truck hex. Truck becomes yellow and no longer blocks supplies.

2. Friendly unit moves into truck hex. No enemy unit is present. Friendly unit leaves truck hex. Truck stays orange and still blocks supplies. What determines whether truck stays orange or turns yellow? Is there a way to determine which it will be without moving the friendly unit?

3. Friendly unit moves into truck hex. Enemy unit is present in the hex. Friendly unit suffers an ambush. Friendly unit attacks enemy unit and forces it to retreat but is unable to advance into hex. Orange truck remains in hex and continues to block supplies. It seems like the retreat of the enemy unit should open the supply route.

4. Friendly unit moves into truck hex. Enemy unit is present in the hex. Friendly unit suffers an ambush. Friendly unit attacks enemy unit and destroys it but is unable to advance into hex. Orange truck remains in hex and continues to block supplies. It seems like the destruction of the enemy unit should open the supply route.

My understanding of the game is yet limited. However, these rules as you observed them make much sense to me.

1. No problem here, right?

2. I suspect that when other hexes with the orange truck symbol surround your "cleared" hex, it is still not safe for supplies to go that route. After all, they could be ambushed by one of the surrounding hexes.

3. Similar to 2: after all, you have NOT investigated the hex in question. Only when you are on that hex, you will not only be sure about that hex but also about all surrounding hexes +1. Again, you wouldn't want your support trucks go through dubious hexes.

4. Similar to 2 and 3: just because you destroyed one unit, doesn't mean there won't be any more units surrounding the hex in question.

Just my two cents.

Combat in DC4 is not a case of the two sides shooting at each other at long range. Low level units from each side maneuver into each other's hexes as attacks and counterattacks take place during the combat rounds. That's why after combat end unit(s) may advance into the attacked hex at no cost in APs. So if a unit in an orange truck hex is attacked and retreated or eliminated the truck symbol should be removed or changed to yellow because the attacker's units were all over that hex and there can't be other defender units in there without having been detected.

One of the new items on the game that I think doesn't make much sense or trying to be to clever by half...so, there "may" be a 'unit', so I am supposed to use a unit to run around the rear area checking to be sure the units I killed havent ...what? Become zombies?

and yes 3 and 4 don't make much sense.....
