Thank you very much for the heads-up regarding TU and PoA. I never would have known.
Despite the warts, these may be the most detailed land combat sims I have ever played, and I've played most of them.
The installs look a bit hairy, but I will give it a go.
Much appreciated!

I have both of them installed and running on a Windows 11 laptop with no issues so far. Yes I agree that they are the most detailed combat sims , you can get lost in all the detail.

The game does look fascinating, but in a way that it looks like a second job to learn.
Judging by the name, I assume armour will be the focus, but is there any reasonable infantry only scenarios and how are infantry tactics modelled?
Cheers

After all these years, I am still a neophyte with these games. But I can say like WitE2, it's not so hard to get playing and move your units around, and experiment. For me, it is the experimentation that is "fun."
The only caveat - and many may rightly disagree with me here - is the use of the game editor (which is easy to use) is necessary to really get the most out of the games. I have not played all the scenarios, of course, but there are not hundreds of them, such as Command Modern Ops or TOAW series.
I haven't played either game much since the 2021 patch, so I'd need to play again and take notes, but, in general, I'd say infantry is very important to the simulation. Maybe better experts can chime in here with the details.
Best wishes!
