SPEAR EW firing on aircraft

There's been a change in beahviour for the SPEAR EW (weapon #3690) in the latest database and I don't know if it's fully intended.
Previously when using the weapon you could only fire it as a BOL and then manually control it if necessary.
Now when loaded and in flight the weapon will automatically fire at aerial targets - and there doesn't seem to be any way to prevent it.
The SPEAR EW is listed in the database as being able to target surface ships and land facilities only, it can't target aircraft, so therefore there is no option in the Doctrine/WRA box to prevent it auto launching at aircraft. This doesn't seem right?
In addition if you open the Manual Engage Target box you CANNOT target ships or land facilities with it, but you CAN target aircraft - this seems to be the opposite of what the database inplies.
Its a bit of a pain when you have a SPEAR EW equipped aircraft intended to provide support for a long range strike and it auto fires all its weapons at the first aerial targets it sees without you being able to prevent it?
