iIs there somewhere that gives a complete picture and capability of the individual SU units. I know road construction units dont build roads, but should SP unit be attached to motorized units only. same for engineers should they only be attached to infantry units. Mountain artillery units just with mountain divisions???. the various antiair units SP with motorized, the other for airfields and cities? Do they various artillery units have ranges? I ask cause beginning of second turn most all SU got transferred up to German high command,

I guess this Chapter may give some hints, though I don't know for sure if it applies that way to (all) SUs this way.
Some further reading in Chapter 21.1 in the old/dead Manual also may help (there are some nice pictures concerning the MOTORIZATION.
Living Manual 1.21, p.238 wrote:15.3.5. Combat Ratings
Mechanized (Mech) and Infantry Ratings:
These ratings are used to determine the overall combat value of units under a HQ, as well as the ability of the ground elements in the units under their command to be able to fire and to hit opposing ground elements. Successful rating checks will increase combat value and improve the chance of ground elements to both fire and to hit.
Mech ratings apply to motorized units and the infantry ratings to non-motorized.

There is no specific category for Mountain Artillery/Engineers and so on, so we only have "special Mountain Infantry", so I guess the namig is just the historical naming/flavour. On German side (all) those SUs with Mountain in their name seem to be MOTORIZED, which seems weird, but I don't know about their historical equipment and how it changed during the war.

Manual Chapter 16.8/16.8.1+ may help.
