I have a Ryzen 5 2600, GTX 2060, 16 GB RAM, Windows 10 Home PC, and when I press play on the launcher window on Steam the window closes but the game does not launch. I've tried updating graphics drivers, rebooting, and verifying files. Any help would be appreciated.

I just tried the standalone download outside of Steam and it doesn't launch either.

I'm getting the same issue. It launched once but now it wont launch.

Same here, launched once. Subsequently I get a get a brief black screen, then back to desk top.

To be clear, the game never launched even once for me.

things to try, run steam and the game as admin, good luck

How do I run Steam as an Administrator.
Right-click on the Steam icon on your desktop or Navigate to your Steam folder and right-click Steam.exe.
Select Properties.
Click on the Compatibility tab.
Check Run This Program As An Administrator.
Click the Apply button.
Click the OK button.

I tried that and it didn't work.

then on the downloaded version, on a clean install, right click and install as admin on the installer and do it all on default, get C and location etc and see if that helps, as tbh that gives full permissions and bypassess anything odd in most peoples system like no default firewalls or A/V programs etc

2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

I fixed my problem by changing the setting for Windows Defender under exploit protection mandatory ASLR from on to off by default. Hope it helps someone else.
