Crazy Fallschirmjager Squad production

GC41
Germany only has 1 (partial) division that uses the
Fallschirmjager Squad 40 element.
Production Numbers (total squads built)
----------------------------------------------
T1 - 0
T2 - 648
(to replace 40 missing squads from game start)
T10 - Arrives on map
T14 - 864
T15 - 1944
Note - only 4 squads have been lost in combat... with approx. 8 squads damaged.
Ignoring the fact that a Fallschirmjager squad probably takes 4-6 months to train, Germany now has built enough to man 6 Fallschirmjager divisions.
Does the system ever realize that was over-kill on the production numbers and reclaim the spent manpower/armaments / supplies

production AI sometimes gets crazy for squad builds, often caused by large armament pools. at least no manpower is wasted.

It appears to stop at that 1944 number. In my last test it was still at 1944 in Dec 41 and in April 42. Later in 43 more gets built, but that's as more airborne units come online. There is likely some formula based on the number of squads in use that sets up an amount that it will build up to. There will likely be excess elements in the pool, but as Dennis says, since there's no armaments shortage, there is no real cost to having excess equipment built and sitting in the pool.

but that behaviour may become a problem if one side gets into an armament shortage

Not exactly sure I follow this...
Doesn't each FJ squad require 10 men? And doesn't this come from the manpower pool when built?
(or maybe the cost is deferred until when it is assigned to a unit?)

Manpower is only needed when a squad/equipment is transfered from the pool to the map or theater box.

You are correct. I realized that after posting my question.
This seems to follow a similar pattern as when delivering freight, as far as fuel/supplies not actually taken from pool until the freight is delivered to front-line troops.
