Let us have unique names for all units

Iterative unit development is awesome, but I wish I could give the updated units a unique name instead of "<oldname> II". I mean, we *can* rename it, but it also renames the older iterations and still keeps the "II".
In my mind, each new design, whether iterative or not, should have a unique name that isn't shared with predecessor unit types.
