Japanese opponent wanted (CLOSED)

Stock game scenario 1 latest beta, PDU off

No 4 engine naval attacks below 10k
No bombing China industry
No crossing borders with fixed units, must spend PP and attach to non-fixed HQ first.
There is an anti-sweep rule about max altitude, can't recall the specifics

All house rules of course negotiable, these are just suggestions.

I can do at least one turn a day (most days can do multiple turns) so would like an opponent who can keep that pace. I used to know the engine inside and out, so would rate myself a vet player who is returning after a long break so am re-learning a lot, but my skills are still pretty good I'd say/hope. Willing to delay start until next beta if its release is close and you wish to wait.

thanks

Use stock map with stacking limits.
FOW - ON
Advanced Weather - Off
Allied Damage Control - ON
PDU on or off at Japans decision
Realistic R&D - ON
Reliable USN torpedoes - OFF
Set all facilities to expand - OFF
Set all Air/Land units to take Replacements - OFF
Auto Sub Operations off
Unit withdrawals on
Animations, Combat Summaries, Combat Reports - ON

Proposed house rules.

1. No strategic bombing in or out of China
2. Units with permanently restricted HQ’s must not cross national Borders.
3. Units with temporarily restricted HQ’s must pay full PP to transfer to non-restricted HQs before moving across national Border.
4. No switching land unit HQ to unrestricted air HQs etc. or any other gamey variation to do this #3 cheaply.
5. HQs may not be reassigned from an unrestricted Command HQ chain-of-command to a restricted Command HQ chain-of-command. (This prevents reassigning the HQ and having all the units assigned to it be automatically unrestricted without paying the PPs. We wouldn't do that anyway.)
6. No 4E level bombers below 10,000 feet for naval attacks.
7. Min height for night bombing is 15,000 feet. We may revisit this if the results are too weak.
8. No ”picket” line AK’s etc. whose sole purpose is to spot enemy fleets.
9. No sea invasions unless the hex has at least a dot or an air/port value
10. No night bombing of airfields or ports. Must target factories, resources etc.
11. Only 1 tank unit can attack at a given time in a hex unless there is at least 50 AV of an infantry/Cav unit to attack as well, then all the tank units can attack.
12. No para drops in China until 1 June 42.

I don't have a scenario 65 listed, stock install with latest beta is all I'm running currently. No mods or added files as yet as I've been gone from the game quite a while and am no longer familiar with what is and isn't up to date and compatible.

PDU on is fine, but I prefer Japan be limited to historical factory upgrades only as the allies are not allowed to change historical upgrades of their factories. We can modify this after 1944 and say Japan can switch factories to non-historical upgrades after 1 Jan 44 to help deal with late war allied fighters. But I'm not interested in a game where I'm stuck using tier 2,3, and 4 fighters while Japan builds nothing but thousands of tier 1 fighters.

Hi,

I'm potentially interested, though with a few notes. I don't think I can consistanly do more than 3-4 turns a week, although that might increase after the first few ingame months, as japan does simplify a bit then.

I am also still fairly new, though I have played a singleplayer allies game pretty far, and gone a reasonable amount into a MP game as Japan, with pdu off.

Let me know if this is something you are looking for, if so, maybe we can discuss the house rules etc. (though I think what you proposed sounds pretty good.
