It was playing as it should. After finishing a game I started a new scenario and everything seemed normal except the units do not appear. I even tried using computer v computer. You can hear movement and hear combat but it is like the units are invisible. I am running the most recent version according to TAOW IV.

Look under the options menu for "unit visibility" and see if "visible" is selected.
