Are there any 4.1 patches available that don't ask for disk 2?

I've tried 2 different downloads, from 2 different sites. Same result each time.

I had the same problem--two DLs, different sites, no dice. I think the only reliable way to download these files is to use a DL utility. I have heard by Gozilla and GetRight mentioned, but don't know the pros & cons of either.

I'm thinking that the files at the download sites are bad; I'm not doing a long download via modem. I'm on a DSL line and the D/L from, hmm, Gamespot in the UK I think it was, came through in a few minutes at 80kbps. And both files were exactly the same size before and after download.

Unfortunately my ISP bills by data transfer, not bandwidth, and I'm at 80% of my limit for the month, or I'd just download the whole 4.5 in one file and be done with it.

I've used Go!Zilla for the past year, and it's an excellent download engine with pause and resume function if the download is interrupted. It's also free in the standard version. Find it at ZDNet, among others.

All the patches for 4.0 to 4.1 at any of the Games Domain Sites are corrupted and incomplete. I was hoping that Matrix still has this patch hidden somewhere on their FTP server or a fan owned site might have it there.

I successfully downloaded ver 4.1-4.2-4.4 from the edome.net sites.

I stand corrected RUsco, I retried the patch from your suggested site again and it seemed to work properly. File size is 30.0mb as opposed to 28.9mb that the other sites reported. I couldn't get that site to work before because I just notice a type-o in Paul's posting for that site in the word pat ch at the end of the address. My apologizes. Image Thanks. Happy Holidays!!!!

Paul, none of those sites have the patches. What other places can we try? Really want to play this newest game, but have no current patches.

Just tried two of them sunet and edome and they worked fine - took 3 or four tries to connect, but the patches are there, and do work, if not corrupted en route.

Paul, the only 4.0-4.1 patch that seems to work is the one from edome. All the others are too small in size, sites report them to be 28.9mb instead of 30.0mb. Image I tried them all. Thanks to RUsco I finally get it to work from edome. P.S. can you correct the spelling in the word patch in the 4.0-4.1 upgrade at the end of the address from edome, I cut and pasted about 20 times with no success until I relized that it's spelled pat ch in the address. Once corrected it works just fine. Image Thanks for all the help. Merry Christmas to all!!!!!! Image

I concur. I was finally able to get the v4.0 to v4.1 from the edome site. Two other attempts at different sites yielded incomplete files.

I also was only successful at the edome site. All others failed.
