Hello fellas
I'm new to the forums... but i see it's a nice community.

I love history and turn based strategy games, especially WW2 and this game seems very complex and interesting to play. It makes you feel like a real general. This will be my first GG game, so I wish to buy WitE2 and the DLC when it goes on a discount(Hope it will be soon). So i have few questions i've been wanting to ask.
1) How many people play MP? Is it hard finding an opponent to play with and are people newbie friendly?
2) How hard is it to master this kind of game? If i may ask how many hours do i need to invest in it?

For the first time, I would agree that a thoughtful move can take about 8 hours. When you get comfortable, it can take 3-4 hours. If you don’t do everything as thoughtfully, if you don’t think about it and just press forward, then it can take no more than 1 hour.
Finding an enemy is not really difficult. If you know where to look. It is not difficult to find an entry-level player, but for a start it is better to play against a bot so that the first move does not take 8 hours. Against a bot, you can do anything and master the interface and basic tools for moving troops, attacking, subduing troops, using reserves behind the map, statuses on the map.

8 hours per turn is for the grand campaign which I recommend that you don't start with. Most players don't spend this long on a turn though! There are some smaller scenarios that can be played fairly quickly and help you get to grips with the game.

I recommend that you work your way up in the scenarios as they teach skills to solve problems that will show up in the grand campaign. There are various levels of support:

* Theater Box

* Air Missions

* Support Units

* Depots

I recommend using these so you can focus more on core concepts initially. But do come off, autopilot as these other areas have much to offer.

The learning curve is one of the largest you will find for a game, but the documentation is some of the best I have ever seen. Also, unlike PDS games with big learning curves, here you have a game where everything is well modeled to emulate reality as compared to total arbitrary complexity simply for the sake of such. Understanding the subsystems will be rewarding as it will be immersing as opposed to an academic exercise.

Finally, if you find you enjoy the system, WITW is available and similar enough that you could get into it quickly. I would say it is about about 80% similar UI/mechanics. Of course WITE-2 is the newer title, but WITW brings some different experiences like a large scale air war. Various scoring mechanics for the GC. A number of strategic options for approaching the GC which is less linear. WITE-2 scoring is heavily dependent on capture dates. WITW is more open ended in how you achieve your ends. Also, the map/scope is smaller, and if your PC is strained by WITE-2's GC ... you will get more mileage from WITW.

I played Wite 1 for many years and Wite 2 regularly for over a year, both SP and MP and still regularly learn new things. This is a game where you can learn the basics relatively easily, but it takes a long time to master, but that is its beauty and why it keeps my interest.

By the way, aren't you a CoH2 streamer who pushed the B-4 meta?

Thank you guys so much for the explanations, you helped me a lot. I will also read the manual for the game on different sites, although long it provides useful information. Maybe sometimes we'll meet and play the game.

One more question,
Can i play PBEM and PBEM++ with mods even if the other side does not have them?
