Here is another one:
Steel Armor: blaze of war

There is also steel fury. But this is only great if you can find the STA mod.

But nothing can beat Steel beasts pro.

Best regards,

Hapshott

GHPC is the best there is. IL-2 Sturmovik has a Tank Crew module for WW2 action.

American Tank Ace, then:

And nothing beats Steel Beasts Pro in the modern combined arms area. Great community too. However, be ready to fork $150 for the experience.

Just correcting some misinformation. Steel Beasts PE is $115 full up. There is a monthly subscription for around $10 to try out.

SB is both a hardcore tank crewman/commander simulation and a somewhat wargame. You can play without ever setting virtual foot in a tank or as a unit commander from the 3D world or the map. There are some QoL features missing to make it a full on wargame, but its pretty close. It also has well over 100 different vehicles as well as infantry/artillery/air support. You can include detailed engineering and logistical functions or just shoot at other tanks.

Thought this was interesting. Its the good with the bad. Steel Beasts is as much about planning as executing the mission. That can be tedious for some. As the article mentions, Steel Beasts is a procedural trainer for a number of militaries. It is by no means lightweight in that vein. But can be played casually with the right scenario.
