Don't Understand the Latest Overrun

In our PBEM game the Germans just overran a UK large infantry corps. At the beginning of combat the infantry corps had 29 SP. After a ground strike which achieved nothing, the 4th attack was at 6-1 and according to the combat log the corps lost 11 SP and was overrun.
According to the manual, when there are odds of 7-1 or more and the unit has less than 1/3 of it's strength or less there is a good chance of it being overrun. So in this case it didn't meet either criteria and the corps was still overrun. It is not 7-1 or more and 11 SPs left is not 1/3 or less of it's original SP of 29. This is not working as the manual indicates.

Does having a unit set to "hold" increase the chances of it being overrun. I assume the infiltration specialty does not increase the chances of an attacking unit to overrun a defending unit.

I believe one of the things that can happen is...

You have 7-1 odds. The unit is stronger than 1/3 its max strength...
When the unit is attacked I think it takes damage THEN overrun is checked. So if the unit lost 1 SP then it would meet the overrun criteria.

As for hold...IF they are on hold they get overrun more often than retreat. I rarely see a unit on hold retreat...

Yea because they are ordered NOT to retreat so they hold more but take more damage.
