Nation modifiers and economy railroading?

Back on NWS forums this topic was somewhat touched, but no resolution was made.
So I woul like to ask how much railroading will we get:
Do nation modifers still stay the same after 50 years of development and player's interaction?
Is there little variability in economic growth no matter what you do?

In RTW2, there is very little variability. The player gets relatively little control over the economy; as head of the navy, that's not really your area of authority. Control over the economy is limited to a few random events. As for national modifiers, there are only two ways (that I know of) to change them: 1, Japan loses Inefficient Shipbuilding Industry around the 1920s (to simulate the real-world improvements they made), and 2, Britain loses Hidden Flaws after they lose a number of ships to flash fires (as happened after Jutland historically). AFAIK, those are the only ways you can change national modifiers, including Russia losing Inefficient Shipbuilding Industry.
Of course, this is all based on my knowledge of RTW2, which may be both incorrect and not applicable to RTW3.

Thanks, but I generally know how this works in RTW2, and was wondering if there was any improvement in that area, since other official info doesn't cover it.
Even in manual - country modifiers are only listed, but it doesn't tell that you can lose, Inefficient Shipbuilding industry with time.

As an avid RTW2 player I would be be very interested to know this too.
Many of the national modifiers (quite understandably) seem most relevant to the early game. For example the "hidden flaws" attribute of the UK which I think is based on the performance of the fleet at Jutland. Is that still something you should be wrangling with in 1965 regardless of how you have invested in your damage control/doctrine etc?
Likewise corruption or underdeveloped shipbuilding etc should (in my opinion) be things that can be overcome based on the decisions you've made.

In RTW2, underdeveloped shipbuilding can go away as you build warships in your own yards - unless you also have the poor education trait (RIP Russia)
And corruption levels can change based on your responses to events - either up or down - and can, if I remember correctly, eventually be rooted out
Most of the others are locked in, though

It would also be interesting to have the possibility to randomise a bit some traits. Hidden flaws should be… well, hidden…
