Is a Base-Up Re-Write Called For? (The manual)

MANY applications do a total base-up rewrite now and then. When's the last time CMO did?
As a new (~270 hrs) user, CMO currently "feels like" a conglomeration of "cool stuff" that has built up over time based on old rules that have been altered to accommodate and draw in new users.
As such, the rules and manual are A TOTAL MESS where a person has to read the most current available manual and THEN read followup release notes, and THEN try to interpret what the manual+release notes says ..........
To people who have played CMO awhile, perhaps this is all just "Follow up" and understood.
To NEW people tho? It's all VERY VERY confusing overwhelming, with no sure spot to keep up to date. Even for those of us familiar with previous naval sims as such. CMO has "its own way" which is great and all! But we need some way to "transition."
CMO needs SEVERAL more explanatory Tutorials.
[IGNORE THE FOLLOWING, IT'S DUMB. I WAS GOING TO DELETE IT BUT FEEL IT'S BEST TO JUST LEAVE MY ORIGINAL STATEMENTS AND SAY IGNORE THEM -- Such things are stuff the devs would know about, not me.]
"RE-write" wise .. Given all the stuff that has been shoe-horned into CMANO over the years to become CMO ... Perhaps it's time to take ALL of that and alchemically boil it down to the essence. And re-write the base game.
SOOO much stuff has been "hacked into" CMANO/CMO over the years that the code MUST be a total freakin mess. Thus super hard to maintain.
Sometimes a total base-up rewrite is what's called for. To simplify the code and agglomerate various repetitive bits. Simplify it.

For goodness sake. Can you just play the game? There is such a thing as complaint fatigue.

I was going to delete this, but upon re-reading it I'll just take back the parts about re-writing the game. If the devs want to they can, or not. No biggie.
The manual(s) tho. Those definitely need a re-write. Info is scattered between the manual and addenda and can be hard to track down. And then try to make sense of conflicting info and such.
@thewood1 - How do you think I'm coming up with this, just by looking at the game?
I play the game. A LOT. In doing so I note the faults and bugs -- which I report a LOT of here. You don't complain about my bug reports now, do you? No. I have made a good 10 or so bug reports since my last post you have opted to complain about. I'm merely giving some thoughts. You can just as easily ignore me.
This is no different, except it's "documentation bugs."
To new users it's rather overwhelming, like I said. To aged users such as yourself you're just "used to it all" or something. Or perhaps just willing to overlook things. I'm not. Especially not at 80usd.
The manual is essential to the game. I have read thru the entire thing once (skipping the editor parts) and much of it a couple more times. Along with addenda.
EDIT ADDITION: Speaking of addenda, I would request that in the future the change logs be restricted to only changes in how the software works, and put all the unit addenda in a separate document. With them all mixed in it makes it harder than it needs to be to go thru the change logs, as well as MUCH more difficult to print out -- which I like to do. Thanks.

I don't think a manual re-write is too much to ask, nor is it a "complaint." You seem to take everything I say as a "complaint." That is, once again, on you. Not me. That's your perception. All I want is to see the game be as good as it can be.

You have some good stuff buried in mounds of complaining/lack of understanding/pushing narratives. Its almost impossible to sort through it. My suggestion is to take a step back get more than a couple months of the game under your belt, come back with a more cohesive and comprehensive approach to feedback that is less stream of consciousness. Many of your suggestions and advice just seem completely out of context and worded/formatted in a way that I dread reading. The good stuff just gets completely overwhelmed by the bad. I don't think its helping the devs or other players, in my opinion.
You come across to me, and I bet to the devs, as somehow knowing better than anyone else how this game should be built and played because you played Harpoon. You won't win friends or supporters sticking to that narrative. It sounds like you were one of those long-time Harpoon players who worked with Herman Hum (and others) that hoped CMO would fail. Thats how your first couple posts came across. Thats a tough perception to live down with long-time CMO players, especially considering most of your follow on posts. Players like you have come, gone, or adjusted over the years. As players, we are just another voice in the crowd to the devs. You have to adjust a little to get your voice heard and then not ignored.
As to the perception of complaining. I went back and reread several of your main threads and always see some form of complaining either about the game or how the devs are doing something. Anyone can complain. With maturity comes the ability to complain the right way to get a point across. I'll reiterate that your thoughtful suggestions and advice are getting swamped in your approach. That leaves the perception that its all complaining.

Good grief man.
I suggest that in the future, when you see a post by me, you move on. I clearly irritate you and you clearly "don't like me." All it does when you read my "complaint" posts is irritate you. That's not good for your health.
You have a simple choice: Ignore me, or continue getting irritated with me.
I again note you don't whine at me in my bug reports, which is the VAST majority of my posts.
Just move on already. No good can come of further interaction between us.

I typically don't move on. But feel free continue on doing that voodoo that you do so well.

I will add that I was absolutely out of line even suggesting a re-code of the game itself. I have no business commenting on that and it was totally inappropriate. For that I 100% apologize.
