SPAAG not engaging HIND

Hi,

I'm testing Tutorial 3 scenario using latest beta and there's something that I don't understand.
As you can see, SPAAG is able to see HIND and it's also in firing range, has LOS but this unit will not attack HIND.
Is it a bug or do I understand something wrong ?

It is really not in firing range or it is at the extreme of its range at best which wouldn't make it a good target. When he Hind moves up on hex the Vulcan opens up on it. The Subunit Inspector shows the Vulcan's range to be 1600m. The question I have is why does the range ring show 2000m. I will need to ask the developers that.

According to a developer, the range ring on the map rounds the range to the nearest 500. You should always check the Subunit Inspector.

Is the unit's SOP set to 2/3rds range? That would also impact the engagement equation.

I had seen the SOP setting of max range. The helo looks out of range to me. The edge of the hex it is in is 1500m. The helo would not necessarily be on the edge. I set the helo to move and as soon as it moved into the closer hex, the Vulcan opened up on it. However, it scored no hits. The Vulcan is not all that accurate. The stinger fired and took out a helo.

Bottom line, I see nothing wrong with the Vulcan not firing.

OK, thank you for your analysis. I think, I'll have to check subunit details more often, it helps a lot :-)

The range ring displays 2000m because the Vulcan equipped unit also includes an M113 APC, whose 50cal is stated to have max 2000m range.
(Range rings do indeed show rounded numbers, but rounding to nearest 50m, not 500m)
