What research area do I need to get the two forward turrets for a Dreadnaught? I'm looking at turrets or ship design. Also, can you have more than 1 research area on high priority? I'm looking at the most two. Do I need to lower another tech priority to compensate?

Ship design has the technology for superfiring B turrets, but you'll probably unlock X (superfiring aft) first. Research priorities are in comparison to each other; you are allocating how your research budget is being divied up to generate research points. Setting them all to low has the same effect as setting them all to high; what matters is the difference between them. So the most dramatic effect would be to have them all set to low except for a single area set to high, or vice-versa.
