When India was conquered, Colombo turned Japanese allowing me to land a unit there, while the rest of the island remained under allied control. As the result of the IJN army unit entering the port, there was no change in ownership as it was already Japanese and the American air unit remained there also. It wasn't until I started to move around the land unit, that the air unit then in Columbo was overrun. That is, move the unit out and then back in.
