Greetings,

I have been playing a campaign for a few years and when the menu came up I hit check for recent patches. I downloaded the beta. At first it was fine but then a few things went bad. One, it removed my quick link off my monitor. Secondly, it put my game in a tiny box. How do I undo Beta or make it work for me? I would be bummed to throw my game away after so many years. Any feedback and help would rule. I am not a huge computer guy but I love the game.

you can always restore the shorcut and use -f to force it back to fullscreen but if you want to undo the beta you can do the following :
- In the install directory there is a SAVE directory. Make a backup (Copy the directory and save it somewhere else)
- Uninstall the game via the windows uninstall menu.
- Reinstall the game up to the patch you want. Normally, all your old saves should still be there, but in case they are gone, you still have the backup, just copy all the files from the backup to the SAVE folder in the game directory.

The game would not remove your shortcut from the desktop something else did unless you uninstalled the game and then you often have to manually delete many shortcuts. It's possible some virus checker or other such program has done this or you accidentaly did. Any link you created after needs switches add. Delete any current shortcut.
Go to the install folder and create a new one.
Add you switches.

What is the latest upgrade and where can I find it?

You are probably best off with 1126a or 1126b since the latest is still not the greatest with errors.

Very Good Advice. The OP should take it.

The New Beta can be a horrible experience for new players
and returning players who have been out of the game for a long time.

It can deceive both into thinking that this is the latest and greatest.
It cuts them off from other maps, mods and scenarios that have been
long tested to work well and they won’t understand why.

Only current very experienced players will understand what they are looking at.

can i install the new beta and still keep my old game going?

It probably would not be a good thing because of the new bases . . .

Install the new update, 1127, in a fresh install of the game....GP

i downloaded the zip file. If i run that will it automatically install it to my existing install or will it give me the option to select a new folder?

It will install over the regular version.. That's why you want to install over a fresh install of the game....GP

Just copy/paste the game folder, then rename & re-point your shortcut.
I use this: The first one is 11.27, the next 11.26b and the last one is a modded 11.26b. All three use a different Map & definition files.
