Playable Nations? USA?

I was taking a look at this game and reading through the player's manual. I came across this, "Playable nations are Great Britain, Germany, France, Austria-Hungary, Russia, Italy, Japan, China and Spain. "
So, the USA is not a playable nation in this game?

Ok. Thanks! That does it. Going to make the jump and pick this one up.
I have visions of being a cross between Adm King and Adm Nimitz with a bit of Adm Halsey, Spruance and even Fletcher thrown in!

USA is definitely playable. I am playing as them at the moment.

Alright. Just took the jump, purchased and installed. I guess I need to get the latest update and install that too.

Alright I jumped right in with the USA in 1935. I do have my first stupid question. Or maybe it's may second one.
What type of ship is hull designation KE? Is that a minesweeper? Never mind. Downloaded and found it in the player's manual. It's a Corvette class.
Got so excited about this new game that I forgot about the player's manual.
Told you it was a stupid question. Sorry to bother.

Just to add a bit... corvettes in this game are a catch all and depending on how you design it can be minesweeper, layers, sub chasers, colonial gunboats, and just about anything not otherwise covered. And don't forget about those minesweepers or you'll be sorry.
