May 1904-The US has a relationship of 6 with itself-Possibly a resurgence of the southern "Lost cause" movement?

The '6' indicator you see in the bottom corner is a numerical representation of the player nation's internal unrest level. If you take a look at the unrest level indicator in the main game screen in the lower left, you should see that it corresponds to the number you see in the "All Relations" tab.

Not sure what unrest level is really serious but your original statement may be correct!
