Hi, years ago I made a mod to reduce the event tension for Rule The Waves 2, well I have now done the same for Rule The Waves 3. So this is for anyone who would like to play the game without the threat of war with other Nations, IE a slower-paced game where you get the chance to build up your naval forces, etc. Please save a backup copy of the original Events file, before replacing it with this Event file thank you.

NB: With this mod installed you can still get wars, the big difference is you decide when you are ready to be more aggressive in the game, plus most of the questions also boost your Naval Budget and Prestige.

Comparing the files shows adjustments, curious what they do.

the only changes made were to the Prestige, Budget, and Tension answers to the in-game events questions. For example where the standard game Tension answer was maybe a positive number say 2 it was changed to a -1 so that in the game the tension level would reduce, the same idea applies to the Prestige and Budget answer they would be changed slightly from an -1 say to either 0 or 1 meaning that instead off getting a reduction in Prestige you would either stay at the same level or maybe increase by 1.

kirk23, thanks for posting this. This very issue has stopped me from playing the game - I'm new to THIS game, not war games in general - and I've stopped playing this game until the next update emerges, hopefully including a correction to the prestige/tension imbalance. I'll give your mod a go and see how that works!
