Is there a blind spot with the AI?

I previously noted that the AI seemed to miss my units moving around the edge of the map in the scenario 'Major Lewis Push for the Road Bridge' in the AAR section. Here's the AAR I'm referring to:

I was playing another scenario today called 'The German Assault Begins' from the Stalingrad DLC which I'd intended to do another AAR for but didn't for two reasons. The first is because I got to turn 2 and simply forgot to take screenshots up to that point and if I'm doing an AAR I like it to be complete with the starting positions etc... The second reason is because by the movement phase of turn 2 I had driven my half-track right the way around the map driving through and taking all the Victory hexes in one fell swoop. Literally! I simply drove the vehicle right across the top of the map and watched each Victory hex turn from Russian to German.

Now, anyone that's seen any of my previous posts knows that I'm not posting this to denigrate the game. I love this game. I think it's a beautiful piece of work. But, I'm a little concerned that I'm going to have to simply ignore the fact that I can win scenarios by waltzing leisurely around the perimeter of each scenarios map and auto-win.

I'm not going to do that from now on though.

Anyway I just wanted to highlight this second incidence of this happening in 2 different scenarios now, just in case it's something that maybe needs looking at.

For my part, from now on, I'll stop 'gaming the system' and proceed to play in the spirit of each scenario. Much more fun that way.

Beautiful game. Thank you for creating it.

I'll add the final victory screen anyway. Not that it helps with the above concerns. I'm just always proud of victories, even if I did 'game the system'.

I haven't played all the scenarios, so can't speak to each one individually. In my own somewhat limited play through, I generally found the maps too narrow and LOS generally open so flanking was difficult to impossible given the scenario length. If you tried a cautious probing flanking move, you faced a very challenging factor of time.

You can read about my take of the game in AAR forums.

Karvon

Thank you for the scenario feedback.

For our next release, I have adjusted these scenarios to take into account the items you bring up.

Should make them tougher to win using these tactics.

Thank you very much for that. It's much appreciated.
