Logistics totals

Greatly enjoying learning this game ... the maps/units look great and the interface is excellent.

While learning the game, I've been studying individual subsystems and I found something in the logistics system that appears to be an accounting error.

In the standard 1939 scenario, the game reports that logistics expenditure for the Axis (calculated by subtracting logistics stockpile from logistics total) are:

Germany: 4350 - 2582 = 1768
Italy: 1900 - 908 = 992

Further calculations show that these national totals exactly match the total logistics values for all of the nation's army, navy, and air force units which are on the map or in production at the start of the scenario.

However, there are several types of support units that also have logistics values; oilers, escorts, and air transports. Germany and Italy have some of these units in Sept 1939 and they do not appear to be included in the logistics calculation. Adding the logistics values of these three types of support units would add 23 logistics point to the German total and 15 points to the Italians.

So I have three questions:

1: Is this an accounting error, or by design?
2: If by design, why are these support units assigned logistics values? Do they serve some other function within the game?
3: Why aren't other support units assigned logistics values?

Thanks in advance for any response.

It is missing from calculation. Frankly I don't remember why. If I took them out and only made new builds count or if it is an error.

I probably missed it. But odd no one noticed for 4 years.
