Fix / no Fix

Sometime earlier today I contacted the help desk to report the recent inability to attach a picture to your post(s). The help desk replied that the new limit on the size of pictures uploaded must be less than 1Meg in size, or you could post the link to the picture that you have uploaded to a location in the cloud. I pointed out to the help desk that that was a workaround, not a fix. He replied that he was "sorry". Meaning, evidently, that there is no fix to be had for this problem. Are you guys okay with that? Anybody have any heartburn? I'm obviously going to have to migrate to a better wargaming web site. Where they have people on their help desk staff that can do programming and actually fix problems. Anybody know of a good wargaming site I can migrate to?

Well Larry it is there website. With that said I use a free online hosting site called Imgur its very easy to use and I store all my pictures there by just taking a screen shot and dropping it on the web site and magically my image is there. Then I use the BBCode to paste the html code here to make a image.

This is just a test
I tried this:
This is just a test
[ attachment=0]https://imgur.com/a/pgzIl0q[ /attachment]
without the extra spaces in the []'s to get it to print as text rather than trying to do the attachment statement
and as you can see it didn't work. How do you get it to work?

this is just a test
<blockquote class="imgur-embed-pub" lang="en" data-id="a/rYq2PV9" data-context="false" ><a href="//imgur.com/a/rYq2PV9"></a></blockquote><script async src="//s.imgur.com/min/embed.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
This didn't work either

Larry,
Had problems with imgur as well. I used imgbb to display this image. Not sure what their limitations on size are.
https://imgbb.com/
Put the image there. Hit "upload". Then look at the options for links that are shown. I take the full link option but only include the part that starts with "https" and ends with ".jpg"
Cheers

I have been using Imgur for years and just use the BBCode as text and it works.

The url from the BBCode should look like this and it’s wrapped by the Imgur tag and it’s just plain text.

I reduce all of my image sizes to less than 200kb. That way the image nazis can't harm me. nanny-nanny boo-boo, stick your head in doo-doo.

That was a bad example Larry, here is a better one (an no need to reduce images):
1. First you put the image up in Imgur and then grab the BBCode:
2. Then you just type and paste it into Matrix forum posts:
3. Here is the image:

Zovs, are you logged in with imgur when you do that? Putting up an image without login did not display the bbcode option for me.
Cheers

Ah so ........... you gotta have an account with imgur to get the BBC code option. That sounds easy to do.

I owe some thanks to the both of you. I finally got it figured out and it's working like a charm. I'm a happy camper now. I feel like a puppy with two peters. I'm a hog in fresh mud.
