Ever noticed that if you send out a Sweep mission and a Recon mission that your recce aircraft get attacked by the cap?

I you send out a Recon with no cover they occasionally get damaged and rarely killed. If you send them out and have a Sweep mission targeted also they all most all get damaged/killed.

This is not isolated to sweep missions. Anytime P-38's are sent to recon a hex/base which other planes also have a combat mission assigned, often, but not always, they will get caught up in the action.

I just keep my recon planes at a very high altitude.
