Some thoughts on Imperial Sunrise

This is a very interesting scenario, and I am having a lot of fun with it. I am playing as the Russians, and winning. My Strategy was to build up my forces as fast as I could, including all the artillery and corps, and let the Japanese deal with a classic, massive Russian steamroller. I broke the siege of Port Arthur, destroyed many Japanese divisions, and have driven them into Korea.

In the naval war, I lost some ships at the beginning, and kept the survivors in port. The Japanese then sent torpedo boats to attack them at anchor, almost every turn. I was able to use my surviving battleships to destroy a lot of torpedo boats, and return to port in the same turn as they were so close. This resulted in the Japanese navy pulling back, and the Baltic fleet united with the three surviving battle ships in the Port Arthur fleet, as well as a cruiser and some torpedo boats. With the torpedo boats acting as scouts, the combined fleet is heading towards Japan. I do not know how big the Japanese fleet is or where they are, but I do know that they lost most of their torpedo boats.

Great fun.

I do wonder, however, if it is perhaps a little too easy for the Russians to send troops to the far east.
In the actual war, the limitations of the trans siberian railway meant that the Russiand could send a maximum of twenty thousand troops a month.

I am really enjoying this scenario. My thanks to the designer.
