[QUERY DEV] [ANSWERED] Should Datalink such as link 16 and CEC do something

Good Afternoon
Steam Build 1328.7 & 1328.8
As the title states should datalinks transfer information between Aircraft, Ships and Vehicles that are equip with it.
I have some test scenarios but don't want to put in a report if they are not meant to be doing something.
Thanks for your time

Not at the moment. The current communication model does not transfer information packets between platforms. As long as a unit has a communication device, they’re on the common operating picture and able to be controlled. If they are all damaged/destroyed then the unit will go off the grid.

Thank you.
Currently they will communicate even if they have all sensors, data links and comms removed producing auto targeting vectors is that correct.
Also two ships within 12 nm of each other seem to swap CEC targeting quality data (Regardless of if they have CEC) which will allow a RIM-174A ERAM SM-6 Blk 1A/1B to be launched from a ship without its radar (either switched on or removed) but any further that that that data does not pass. This is what led me to the CEC questions as its line of sight only in the DB so would have explained that. But also would of meant its not working correctly currently. An E-2D can do this at long range but only if its radar is switched on it should be able to do it even if is radar is switch off as it would get data from other sources.
If you want some test scenarios ready to go showing these behaviors happy to add them for you.
Again thanks for your time.

CEC ability (and more importantly its absence) is explicitly modelled, and has been so for years now (see this post for example:
https://command.matrixgames.com/?p=4076 )
If you have examples of CEC working where it actually should not, or not working where it should, feel free to post them on tech support (one thread per issue).
Furthermore, IF the "Communications Disruption" feature (
https://command.matrixgames.com/?p=4454) is enabled in the scenario settings, then a unit that has all its comm links inoperative (or jammed) will be comms-isolated, with very real consequences. (You can observe an example of this in Shifting Sands #17 "Bekaa Valley"). Again, if you notice a case where this is not happening as expected, feel free to open a new tech support thread.
Thanks.

Excellent, thank you i will do some reports with saves and logs.
Are we still using the 64Bit forum or are all reports in this one now?

You can use the Tech Support forum and I think it is better to open another thread with the specific problem.

Thanks, i'll post to tech support with individual reports separate to this thread to avoid confusion. That will leave this thread free for any further discussions on the matter. Should i mark this as answered as the question has been. I'm trying to mark my posts to make it easier for people to find if questions have been asked and answered.
