So far, so good! The DLC is an excellent value. I love the Gizureans and Quameno and the addition of the Ancient Vaults. All the improvements and additional content really rounds the game out. DW2 has come a long way since launch.
It's great having the galaxy filled with 11 unique racial empires versus having to double up just to keep the early game interesting and 'exciting'. That being said, I typically play custom starts and grant an additional empire to each of the bug races to increase the challenge.
The Mortalen AI factions are still dodgy and seriously unbalanced though. It's one thing to avoid their bases, another thing entirely when they build ships that venture outside their home systems. Their ships can be really aggressive and sometimes nearly impossible to deal with in the early-mid game. Whenever I see a Mortalen AI ship larger than a frigate I crack open the editor and delete it.

Enjoying it a lot! Though I'm playing Ackdarians right now, not one of the new races. Hoping for some good carrier wars against the Gizureans.

I love to play the gizureans (and YES, they are really good drawn, very very nice work! THANKS!!!)- Nobody likes them, even they themselfes decimate each other. So nothing hinders me NOT thinking about diplomacy - it is all about expansion and fighting. It reminds me now of the harvesters in moo3.
But still the performance has to be made better. Meanwhile - I have a feeling that the music has gotten some love too..
