They attack ground units within range at commander's discretion. Unit orders are/were set to City Attack, range 20. Target was not set (I had transferred them and not re-set a target). No secondary orders such as Ground Attack - they were set to City/Rest.

So they did this.

I've often seen collateral damage inflicted on ground units when bombing airfields, ports, etc. However, they usually aren't named in the report like 5th Armored Car Co. was here.

Apologies, I should have noted in the text of the post that the unit being attacked was not in any base. It was on its own, in the field.

Was there a secondary mission of ground attack? If there were no City targets within range, that could explain the situation.

Loka said City Attack/Rest.
But which version is this? 1126a or b, or 1127Beta?
