I had auto-move submarines turned on for a long time, but I noticed that almost all my sub fleet is sitting in my home area. So I turned off auto-move and right clicked on a bunch of subs, and a menu came up with the choice "move submarine". But clicking on it didn't result in anything.

I also have auto-move ASW ships checked, but they don't seem to be moving around either. I can select them and move them manually if I like, and in fact they are good garrisons for areas where there aren't a lot of enemies. But I'd like to see them move automatically, too.

I find it odd that your subs didn't move as ordered as I have no problems with that. Only coastal subs cannot move during war. I have never personally used auto-asw as I always check where the enemy has the most submarines.

I wonder if there's some problem with my installation. It's a Steam game so I don't have a lot of control. But I have a lot of stuff that should be working that isn't (can't change loadouts on my planes either, so when the carrier runs out of torpedoes or missiles, those aircraft are done for the day).

I've opted in to the beta so maybe this will fix some stuff?

Edit: still a problem with the beta. I'm wondering if there's something about my computer or the Steam version that's a problem since other people don't have this issue?

Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help either.

I don't have the same problems. Who knows what's causing it. Today I spent all my munitions in a carrier battle missiles torpedoes all and then had to resort to old fashioned bombs.

Are you on Steam or did you get your game directly from Matrix?

Edit: Ah, I see you are a beta tester. I wonder if anybody who has the Steam version of this could weigh in and say whether they're having the same issues?

I'd consider paying Matrix another USD 37 or whatever it was to get a fully functional version if it's the Steam version at fault.

The original beta is over. The version I'm using is the public beta posted on this forum.

Do you mind uploading a save, screenshots, and steps to reproduce that show this issue? So far haven't seen other reports on this line, so any evidence you can give will be a great help.

Okay, here's the save game file.

While messing around with this, I have discovered the source of both problems. I have two displays, a smaller one for text purposes and a bigger one for playing games, watching movie, etc. on. When I launch the game, it pops up in the right-hand, smaller window (designated as display #2 in my Windows 10 settings, but nonetheless the display that lights up first when the computer is turned on and the one that the Steam window appears in when I open it). I routinely drag the game to the larger display and maximize. While messing around to duplicate the problem for screenshots for you, I discovered that it works fine on the display it was originally launched on. Moving it to the other display somehow means that those windows (move submarine and change aircraft loadout) don't appear, and I get the error message when I try to change loadout. So it has something to do with my display settings.

Do you want me to get some sort of information from my settings to help you figure this out? I sure would like to play the game on my huge monitor instead of the 19" one.

There's a lot of known issues with dual monitor displays. Not sure if the dev team are aware of this particular issue, but you may need to check all the other issues you've had as they could also be affected by the dual monitor problem.

Thanks, that's exactly correct. It's all the stuff I've been having trouble with. Works fine as long as I'm willing to play on the smaller monitor.
