Here's another bright idea, or something I don't know how to do - if you get a report that "aircraft from airbase X/carrier Y are approaching enemy ships", you ought to be able to click on it to have the map centered on that point zoomed in enough that you can see where you are.

Otherwise, if the justification for this is that they aren't radioing their exact location to you because of your lack of technology or what have you, then don't give notice, just later when they get back to base you get a report "airstrike on enemy ships claimed to get 3 bomb hits on CV" or whatever.

And I'm assuming that the claims are sometimes a bit imaginary. I've gotten reports of multiple bomb hits on enemy CVs and then at the end of the battle I see that the enemy's carriers were undamaged or only lightly damaged.

It's just the same as when your gunners claim hits on an enemy warship - they may not actually have hit the target, but the splash/flash makes them think thy have.
