GC 41 - sudden death or no sudden death?

I am about to start a new '41 GC on challanging difficulty against the Soviet AI.

Based on your experience, which of the two scenario types would give the best player experience (i.e. I want to be kept on my toes though I fear that I might be robbed of valueable game time by way of the game ending abrutly due to either me or the AI failing to achieve certain arbitrary VP criterion).

Thanks,

1941 Campaign - NO EARLY END

Read the Scenarios Description, there is still a check on 31.Dez 1944.

...supposedly there is a new Update comming out soon, you should be able to keep playing your round, but won't get updated data stuff tho. (just so it has been mentioned).

If you playing this game for like first time, then I would recommend no early end campaign to familiarize yourself with game mechanics.

However, if you want some historical immersion or you think you are skilled enough, then I would recommend playing the original 41 campaign. Historical immersion is also a big part of gameplay. It would be a shame if you missed that part of the experience.

What's so historical immersive about the original 1941 campaign compared to No Early End? No Early End is more immersive in my opinion.

Thanks for the answer. I have opted in the beta, would that help with the new update?

I am not a complete beginner and it would add some kind of pressure to the game that if iam not moving fast enough I might lose the game. Alternatively, if I fall back too much I could also lose.

So seemingly playing the sudden death scenario is is more fitting to me as well as it provides a more historical experience (which would be my intention. I dont mind losing the game fighting amongst the ruins of Berlin).

The sudden victory and loss rules were intended to add the political element to the game that pressures the Germans to advance and the Soviets to defend. Compared to history I think the rules are fairly light handed in this regard. The levels are set so it should be hard get a sudden victory or loss assuming the players of equal skill are taking them into account when planning their strategy.
