Since wargaming and tank modelling often go hand in hand, I thought maybe I find some fellow tank modellers here.

I build mainly tanks but also other vehicles of the Wehrmacht in WW2. Most of them are in 1/35 scale, but some are 1/15 or 1/16 with RC.
My ultimate dream is an 1/6 Tiger such as the one from Mark 1 Tank.

Let me try this one again. There is a modelmaking forum over at the Wargamer, did you know that? You will recognize a lot of names from here in it.

We likely have a lot of model nuts in here, but Wargamer seems a more neutral site (or it was separate from Matrix Games when I first found it hehe).

I asked for the Model Forum to be created initially on response to a thread I had generated in General Discussions a good handful of months ago. It appealed to the powers that be, and the rest is history.

Thanks to me liking both Matrix Games and Wargamer, you can assume, that anything that is popular here, gets mentioned there, and vice versa hehe.

I just built a 1/35 Tiger 1 and a Chinese Missile Destroyer (actually from China , Grand total 12$) and got a 1/48 Beaufighter withs paints for my b-day which is today. Any good sites,espically with paint schemes would be appreciated.

Here's a Tank and Howitzer (that everyone THINKS is a tank,) I did a couple years ago now or more in my newbie days.

Did a bit doodling few minutes here and there. Wish I didn't have all those chem courses at the time so I could have finished these puppies.

3,300 GB Pounds I will have to start saving. These babies are absolutely magnificent however, over a metre long

Anyone build ROCO Minitanks/ 1/87th scale models?

Yes I do. I've been re-assembling my collection. I had over 40 when I was a kid but my parents threw them all away when I was at college. Up to ~35 right now. An assortment but mostly WW2. Too bad the Roco Panther stinks. Probably the worst in the bunch.

Roco generally sucks from the perspective of the fussy modeller, but they have a splendid range of items that just plain don't exist out there in the more conventional model companies (at least that is my personal experience).

I have a handful of them in my collection. Often it is a simple matter to disassemble and rectify any glitches or errors or lack of quality in the items.

These things are after all meant for model railroaders who are about as anal as it gets where the trains are concerned, but they rarely spend as much effort on the static doodads they put on their layouts as props ie vehicles.

Oh just for reference value, my father spent his entire working life with the CN and as such is an expert in his field. That and I grew up exposed to the hobby in a big way hehe
It might be even said, my father and a local friend pioneered the train show concept (at least as it is known in north america) almost 30 years ago now. By train show I of course don't mean craft show or hobby show, I in fact mean a show where it's trains nothing but trains and only trains ie the show is exhibitors of model trains only. That claim though is based on an observation, my father doesn't really think along those lines himself.

So yep, I have seen a lot of model train gear. And that would include Roco.
Roco is like a lot of companies of course, some stuff will stink, while some items will be incredible. I think their wheeled vehicles are generally better.

I went to Atlanta a month ago or so and saw a model railroad based on the city of Atlanta past and present.It was HUGE and impressive.

Cars are the only thing those cats dont really pay to much attention to.They were all pre-made but the rest of it was killer.
