I am reading the manual on page 216 and I see reference to a bureaucracy size bonus that begins at 10 BP and ends at 400 BP, while a BPNpenalty begins at 1k and ends at 50k.

I see specific numbers for certain BP, like 2k BP has a 190 BP penalty and 50k BP has a 40k BP penalty (!!!). Does anyone know the calculation on how the midpoints of this are calculated? Like if I wanted to know what the penalty for 25k BP is, how could I call that? It’s not clear from the manual.

Also, the manual states that BP points are produced on the prior turn and then distributed on the current turn. Is this BP penalty assessed on the production stage? Because I know that leaders get certain bonus for tasks when BP is distributed, and I want to understand if the BP penalty is assessed after these leader bonuses.

Here is my understanding of how it works.

Turn X ==> BP produced and BP penalty or bonus assessed: Turn X+1 ==> Produced BP distributed to tasks and then leader bonuses are assessed ==> Possible diminishing returns at task keel occurs for more than 100 BP

I'm not familiar with how to calculate it, but you can see the most recent bureaucracy size bonus/penalty in the tooltip for the amount of BP production in Reports -> Overviews -> Regime dashboard.

Leader bonuses (and other bonuses that apply to council tasks rather than directly to BP production) are applied after the diminishing returns.

You can see the distribution/production of individual leader bonuses in the Reports->Organizations dashboard.
