Last turn I recorded how many days were remaining before I reached the next tech level for Escorts. I had 7 allocated to the USA and the UK. For the UK it showed 322 and the USA 157 days remaining.
This turn It showed 300 days for the UK but the USA was still at 157 days. Since the USA did not decrease from 157 days does this mean that the time remaining doesn't always decrease? Is there a die roll that determines that?

Yes there is some kind of random die roll and sometimes it does not advance. I have never really tested it out but I think 3-4 points is needed to get an advance every year. 1-2 points it will be slower. More than 4 makes it go faster but with decreasing gain so 8 points will not be twice as fast as 4 points.

I am waiting for my Russian Assault to go from 44 to 45...it had 22 days remaining for 2 turns...

I guess so horrible rolls overall since it was maxed with points.

On the reverse...their armor has been at 45 for nearly 6 months...and both started the same so that tells you how crazy they can go.

Tech is not precise. I do a lot of randomization to prevent min-maxxing.
