Fresh install - map isn't showing anything at all

Hi,

I've just purchased and downloaded CMO via Steam. Unfortunately, there seems to be a major game-breaking bug in play here: I can't see anything in-game except for the UI and the menus. The "world" is entirely grey. No layers, units or anything. I can click around the menu but no matter how long I wait or what options I tick in the layers menu, the map screen remains entirely grey.

I've tried reinstalling and checking the game files. Restarted PC.

I didn't install anything outside of what Steam installed automatically. I looked into the "PreRequisites folder" that was mentioned on here but my installation doesn't have it.

My system isn't the newest, but it should easily be able to run CMO.

i5 4670K
8GB Ram
ASUS GTX970
Win 7
Game is running as admin.

Do you need a save file for this? It's the same issue for all the scenarios I tried.

Many thanks in advance!

Hi,

Unfortunately Command doesn't run in Windows 7 anymore. You will need Win10 at the very least. This is clearly indicated in the minimum hardware & OS requirements.

I see. I guess I already was overdue for an upgrade.

FYI on Steam Win 7 is still listed.

In W7 you may still use the 32-bits legacy version.

It is also considered as beta, but it is a misnomer.

Many thanks for the suggestion, that indeed fixed it!

Note that the version that works in W7 is legacy, so it will not be updated.

The only way to be up-to-date is to upgrade to W10.

It is what I did :)
