I'm interested in developing a mod demo for AB for a black powder mode.

I think the AB engine and the underlying game code could be really fitting and produce an Kriegsspiel style feel to the gameplay.

Any thoughts on feasibility?

I can foresee a problem.

Troop formations in the age of black powder were close packed and linear. Armored Brigade restricts the number of troops able to fit on a tile.

I suppose there were a couple of decades at the end of the black powder era when breech loading had been invented but "smokeless" powder was still in the future. Breech loading changed tactics to something Armored Brigade might better simulate.
