Three super firing turrets?

I know the US Atlanta class CLs had triple front and rear turrets. Is this an option in the game? Seems like it would be pretty handy especially for the all forward configuration.

Unlikely, they only appeared on the British Dido-class and the US Atlanta-class, and my understanding is that they weren't very successful, adding a little too much top-weight and affecting stability.

You could make the third turret especially high weight for topside weight purposes and let the player choose if that's a risk they're willing to take. The Atlantas were certainly effective AAW platforms, though not so great for surface combat.

As a counterpoint, a bunch of mechanics already exist that allow us to do even dumber things:
  • 13" guns on CLs
  • 6" guns on DDs
  • superheavy AA shells
  • pre-autoloader 6" DP guns
  • cross-deck fire on dreadnoughts
  • AVs with armor and cruiser guns
Evidently, "it didn't work out IRL" has never actually stopped NWS.

You can do a 16" gun on a KE if you've got good enough weight techs (and 16" guns unlocked, of course!). It's utterly useless, but still a very funny design--especially if you give it a name like "Elefant!'
