New person questions

Hello!
I just have some questions.
I love the way the information you get in the game is really immersive, for example hex info depends on recon and how your people report stuff reflects their character.
My first question is, in the Overview of Urgent Issues report, does it's content and quality depend on how good your secretary is?
Is it worth getting a better secretary in order to get a more complete and useful Overview of Urgent Issues report?

Thanks.
I was expecting more questions, but actually searching the manual answers most of them. I will ask more here if any come up.

Is there a printer friendly version of the latest v1.25 manual available to download anywhere? Or an epub version?
Thanks.

Inside the game folder there's a manual folder.

Thanks - yes, but the printer friendly version is for v1.2. Guess it'll get updated eventually.

I have another Question, in the manual it says that PP production by Organizations is the square root of ppPoints, but I can't find a definition of ppPoints anywhere...?

ppPoints are what's generated by the political point generation task of the Supreme Command Council, before being converted into actual PP as you noted.

Ah yes, now I can see an example in the Supreme Command Council Overview report, start of turn log, it says we managed to create 49 ppPoints, and hovering over new PP's in Empire Dashboard it says 49 ppPoints provided 7PP.

Thanks :)

I have another question. I do read the manual and forums, honest :) sometimes I just need to ask for something to click. Thanks for your patience.
Is there a guide explaining OOB and the development of them and deployment. I am not really familiar with war games, I get it kind of technically but maybe there is a play-through or usage guide somewhere....
Thanks

Yes, have a look over here.

EDIT: That guide describes how unlocking OOBs works. As for which ones to use, Heavy MG, Heavy RPG and Heavy Grenadiers are the most useful cheap defensive formations (both foot and motorized versions are useful). For offensive formations, Light Armor, Armor and Mechanized types are the most useful.

Most types outside of those (90% of the ones in the game) have only niche uses or are just crap. In particular, the ones that mix infantry and armor aren't really a good idea, as the game is full of model types that easily mow down attacking infantry but can't do anything to tanks, meaning attacking with tanks only is often more optimal. (APCs have a special mechanic to absorb hits for troops they're transporting, helping mitigate this issue for mechanized formations.)

The most common formation customization is to add MGs or RPGs to foot formations so you aren't at the mercy of the RNG to get a type that has enough of one or both.

AFAIK, your secretary's personality, Relation, Profiles... affect what Decisions they are going to choose if you leave them for them to decide (which in theory saves on Political Points !)
