Flamethrower team issue

The 2-man "para flamethrower" team (class 55) isn't using the flamethrower as a "crewed weapon", although it is set that way in the data.
When the 2-man team engages the enemy (within flamethrower range), the flamethrower is used as expected, if one team member dies, the flamethrower should be picked up by the second team member and used against the enemy (if the enemy is in range of the flamethrower).
This doesn't happen, if either one of the team members dies, the other one uses the Sten Mk 5 (of the second team member) instead of the flamethrower against enemy within flamethrower range.
I've played around with soldier type to correct this, but whatever i try the result is the same behaviour as described above. (-1 = Empty Slot, 0 = Basic Soldier, 1 = Leader, 2 = Tank, Gun or Mortar Crew, 3 = Asst Leade, 4 = Commander, 5 = Tank Leader ):
Stock data "soldier0" set as 2 "soldier1" set as 3
Both teammembers set at "2" -> same result
Both teammembers set at "0" -> same result
"soldier0" set as 3 "soldier1" set as 0 -> same result
Which data parameters could be adjusted, so the crew uses the flamethrower as intended?
Another thing i've noticed is the flamethrower sometimes displays "weapon lost", what triggers this "weapon lost" status?
