Will pay someone to design a complex scenario.

Hello all! I have recently gotten into a debate with my friends. I thought I could use this simulator to settle the debate but the learning curve is a bit steep for me to learn quickly.

The scenario that we are arguing:

How long would North Carolina last in an invasion from Russia? Russias goal is to annex NC. We get 0 support from other nations or states. Russia has to come from the sea or air they cannot come from neighboring states. NC gets access to all reserve, national guard and active duty units stationed in the state.

If someone can design this complex scenario for me I will pay $50 USD in whatever form you’d like. Let me know if this is possible and if anyone is interested in taking on this massive project.

At the very least if the whole scenario is to complex I’ll still pay equally to see a land invasion of NC and how that would go.

The starting question is pretty absurd and not worth building a scenario over.

Even if we hand-wave the notion of Russia wanting just North Carolina, and the state getting no out of state help, the simple fact is that the Russian military does not have transoceanic invasion capabilities whatsoever.

They don't have nearly enough landing craft or UNREP capabilities to transport a force large enough to the NC coast.

But let's assume, despite all logic and reality, that the Russians get, say 3 divisions worth of troops off the coast of NC.

They only have a couple squadrons of combat aircraft from their only aircraft carrier, which is has become a piece of junk that isn't even operational right now. All other fixed-wing aircraft are from bases too far away, and at best, they can get a couple planes into a captured airport in a few day period with their tiny tanker fleet, of course they would also need to fly in the support personnel for those few airplanes. They have alot of cruise missiles from surface ships and subs, but those don't take territory.

I'm not aware of how much US Military and National Guard is stationed in NC (aside from the Army base at Fort Bragg). If we assume that all Federal forces stationed within NC are part of the defense, only two outcomes are really possible:

1) there's enough Federal forces in NC to hold off the Russians to bleed their expeditionary force dry.

2) There's not enough forces outside of the National Guard, and the Russians do gain somewhat of a foothold, but they are faced with a hostile populace and many thousands of miles from supplies and reinforcements. They are going to be starved out with time alone.

The bottom line, you and your friends need to debate about something more realistic and substantive than this. The "might" of the present-day Russian military is not capable of conquering half of a country they share a border with. As crazy as Putin is, he'd have to be certifiably mental to try something half as nuts as this.

The only feasible debate of this exact nature would be a Russian incursion into Alaska, that's about the only US State that Moscow could conceivably land troops into, and that's been the case since the early Cold War. But even then, they wouldn't be able to really hold onto more than a few of the Aleutian islands.

See I 100% agree with you but my friend does not.

Agreed, this person either does not know, or refuses to look at, the actual Russian military forces that exist in the present day world.

If they did seriously look at what Russia has, they would know their assertions are absurd.
