The creation of Brigades creates Battalions numbered in a sequential order. A Battalion that is lost/destroyed, when reformed, losses this original number. The new new number that is assigned is sequentially from the last created Battalion, as if this were a new Battalion (as in not a reformed Battalion).
In this example, 3rd Infantry Brigades, was created with Battalion numbers 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16. Battalion 16 was destroyed, and when reformed given a new number assignment of 21.
