Question about the 25% bonus on readiness.

Page 52 of the manual states that "If the contact results in combat, then the hidden unit (which counts as the attacker) has its readiness increased by 25% for the combat calculation"
My question is:
Does this apply a 25% bonus to readiness or does it add a 25% bonus?
For example, a unit with 50% readiness, would have it's readiness increased to 62,5% (50 + 12,5% (25% of 50)) or increased to 75% (50 + 25%)?
