I used to play the good old Harpoon back in the days for long nights. And now I found out that is still keep it updated - great!

So I bought it today from the store, downloaded the „setup release“ file, unzipped all the 6 files and wanted to install it on an windows environment on my Mac - got no more PC around for years...

I usally use Whisky (wineskin) for that. Works like a charm normally with other Windows programs - but here it just does not work. The installation process does not even start. No error message.

Any idea?

I really would love to play this game again and would appreciate if anybody could try to point me in the right direction.

It works fine normally. Try Playonmac https://www.playonmac.com/en/download.html

- install programm -> select install not listed
- enter name for the bottle, select 32-Bit
- installing shout work, ignore error message at the end

At end of installation you have to select some starters, manually:
HC20Run.exe for the older versions
and than "Select programm" for manual selection, navigate to the home directory -> Play On Mac virtual drives -> yourBottlename -> drive_c Matrix Games HUCE and select Winharp32.exe voila
If the finder boxes are empty or not shown you have to activate show hidden files in the finder, try Command + Shift + .

Thanks @pavlos76, I finally have a Mac newer than 2011 vintage (which worked great with WineBottler) but haven't taken HC for a spin there yet.
