I cant find the turn number or the game date? there should be a date to tell where we are in the game

It's usually in the far upper right of the map display next to the red turn arrow. If you're not seeing at the moment because you're clicked on a unit, just hit the space key.

Thanks. I found I had to remove a tab for country morale. When I did the date appeared as you said. Thanks again

Yeah, I had forgotten that those tabs can cover the date sometimes depending on screen resolution.
