Sending air supplies to a specific airfield?

Trying to get supplies into the crimea, and I was wondering is there a specific way to order transport planes to bring in supplies. It will be a few turns before I can get AGS railroad repair unit down that far south? Can I do this with the F9 key?? not fully grasping what it is for?

Hit the airdrop button/icon and click on the airfield.
How much supply gets delivered depends a few things: on how many transports you have, how far they are from the new airfield. It'd be best if you set up a depot to receive the supply.
Don't expect a ton (pun intended) of supply to be delivered via air. Rail always provides more once you have the network built.
